Choose Love on Purpose

Healthy marriages aren’t built by chance, they’re built by choice. Every day, we have the opportunity to intentionally love, honor, and cherish the person God has entrusted to us. While grand romantic gestures have their place, it’s often the quiet, everyday decisions that make the greatest impact: offering a kind word instead of a sharp one, extending grace instead of keeping score, listening instead of assuming, and choosing forgiveness instead of resentment. These small acts of faithfulness become the building blocks of a marriage that stands the test of time.

Jesus reminds us, “Do to others as you would have them do to you” Luke 6:31.

Imagine how different our marriages would be if we intentionally lived out those words every day. Speak to your spouse the way you long to be spoken to. Offer encouragement when they’re weary. Show patience when they’re struggling. Honor them not only when it’s easy, but especially when it’s difficult. When both husband and wife choose to love this way, hearts begin to soften, trust is restored, and connection grows deeper.

A thriving marriage isn’t the result of finding the perfect spouse, it’s the result of two imperfect people continually choosing one another. Every intentional act of love plants a seed. Over time, those seeds grow into a relationship marked by peace, joy, security, and unwavering commitment. Your choices today are shaping the marriage you’ll enjoy tomorrow. So choose love. Choose grace. Choose each other, again and again.
